  • Core Lab: Acquires Guardian Global Technologies

On September 25th, Core Lab acquired the shares of Guardian Global Technologies, a company based in Pyle, Wales in the United Kingdom. Guardian, with over 20 years of experience, is a technologically sophisticated designer and manufacturer of downhole instrumentation utilized by international oil and gas operators for well completions. Guardian’s downhole technologies are designed to systemize, simplify, automate, and de-risk the deployment of perforating systems.

Guardian’s proprietary and patented product portfolio will be integrated with the Owen Oil Tools Division of Core Lab. The combined product offering fully complements Owen’s integrated approach to perforating oil and gas wells, allowing us to provide a proprietary top to bottom perforating tool string. Guardian’s innovative Ballistic Delivery System (“BDS”) and newly released addressable switch supports a portfolio of differentiated products including addressable/ballistic release tools, cablehead tension, shot detection and orienting systems that provide customers the ability to manipulate the perforating tool string for greater accuracy and operating efficiency. Owen fully expects Guardian’s addressable downhole capabilities, combined with Owen’s perforating systems, to provide unique product solutions focused on wellsite and reservoir productivity.
